Embargoed by the west following the 1958 Revolution, Cubans try to keep their legacy American 1950's cars on the road, usually as taxis handed down generation to generation. Often these classic cars are now powered by Japanese diesel engines after their original motors wore out with American spare parts unobtainable.

A windmill is dwarfed by wind turbines near Hays, KS along I-35. Both are powered by the abundant Kansas wind.

A human hand greets  "Wilber" , a pot-bellied piglet as a jealous Chihuahua looks on before the "Chihuahua Parade", an attempt to beat the dog parade record of 603 in Tokyo. The Kansas City event drew 492 dogs of all breeds, plus a few other species.
